I have a 1986 coupe and I need new transmission cooling lines. I can't seem to find any place that sells them. Is this something that is available or is it something that a shop will have to make?

Most complete cooler line assy are bent in so many different places that it next to impossible to change them without bending them unless you have the eng out.
Are the lines completely shot or did you crimp just a spot and want to completely redo them? If you just have a bad spot you can do like I did when I had to saw off one of mine when removing the radiator to clean it out. Get some rubber hose(FI hose or one other) that is the right size and just hack saw the metal line so you have two clean openings. Slide the rubber hose over each metal lines and clamp that sucker down tight. Did mine over a year ago and haven't had a single leak. Just my two cents which are completely worthless if the lines are completely shot.
I cut the lines at the crimp I had and used compression fittings. Cheap and effective.
New lines probably can be found, but the factory lines are a harder material than what NAPA sells, for example, that you bend yourselves. So, if the dealership etc have them, they wont be cheap. But we have some vendors here that sell used stuff from their salvage yards. Vette2Vette, I believe is one.
There are a number of options. Get a set from a car being parted out, patch the bad parts, or run new line. New line can be metal or rubber. I took the stock lines off and threw them in the garbage. I didn't think they would be worth the cost of shipping. I ran new rubber hoses and routed them away from the headers trying to keep the trans cool.
