Default Back up lights

I have 94 C4 corvette convertible, no backup lights. The fuse is good the reverse switch on the transmission is good. I jumped it and still no lights, the bulbs are good. I did notice the cags was unhooked so I hooked it back up still no lights. No power to the light sockets or wires. Wires in the back all look good. I did order a cags for it. I noticed that the back up lights and cags are on the same fuse 28. Does anybody have any more ideas?

On my 91 I have the CAGS disconnected and my rear back up lights work fine. There are 2 AUX fuse panels under the passenger side dash. Maybe there is a fuse for them there?

Use a test light to see if you have power in to the backup light switch on the trans with the key on and the car in reverse (dark blue wire). If you do, check for power out of the switch, same conditions (light green wire). If these check out, I would check the ground for the backup lights, then trace the power circuit looking for a loose connector or a short. This will be easier with a wiring diagram.

Salorsteve has got good information assuming you have a manual transmission. If it is auto, then the Dk blue is a pink wire. Regardless, you have to get in there and make some voltage measurements with a meter to find out where you are losing voltage. (You probably do not have a short or it would have blown the fuse).

Check to see if you have voltage on the fuse, then the trans switch, and then the wires to the lamp sockets. With this information you should be able to zero in what area to look in.

See if this helps.
