Default 1988 with a dead electrical system

I have a 1988 coupe that has a totally dead electrical system.
My quaestion is did corvette offer a security system that disables the electrical system? Mine has one. I have two key fob remotes one used to work the other never did.

Is this an aftermarket system?

This system used to turn off the electrical system if it had been a while since I started the car. I would just have to push the button on the remote and would hear a click that sounded like a circuit breaker and the the whole system would work. I tried to start it this morning and nothing happened.

The battery voltage is good.

Someone installed a remote battery shut off in your car, GM never had this as an option.

I did some poking around today under the hood and found some wiring that doesn't fit the book. I will post some pics tomorrow of what I find.

jfb you were right on the money

This thing was supposed to be a battery saver and security disconnect.
It failed and drained the battery compleatly. I took the battery out and tried to charge it but it was trash. I bought a new battery put it in and it works like a champ now.

Thanks for the reply
