I've noticed lately that the '92 shows 15v right after starting. It takes as much as 15 minutes of running to get to 14.2v or so. I do occasionally see 13.7 - 13.9v after about an hour at freeway speeds.
Because I don't drive it a lot in the winter. I keep a maintainer on the battery. Even with that, it still shows the 15v at start. Last fall, I had a load test done and we did it three times in succession. The battery was down to 82% of capacity after the 3rd test.
This battery is the original  ! Is it on its last legs??
15 volts is within range of the safe output voltage of an alternator, and if you load tested your battery and it tests good, I would just keep using it. You don't have a problem. The original battery in my 74 vette lasted 5 years.
my 92 is similar, except it's a bit quicker to get it down to 14.5V (about 10 min). unfortunately for me, when my alternator kicks in about 15-30 seconds after startup, i get this nice wining noise. battery is OK, but thinking of getting a new alternator and keeping it in the back "just in case".
