Default Oil Leak?

I had the Vette on a lift yesterday and noticed some oil on my drivers side header bolts and spark plugs. Im thinking its the valve cover gaskets. Would a bad headgasket leak oil out where it meets the block? No antifreeze leaking btw

When you get the oil pan gasket I suggested in your other post, get the valve cover gaskets that are made the same way. They both have steel crush sleeves in them to prevent over tightening.

Alright maybe Ill be ok by pulling the valve cover and taking a look at the gasket. With these blue fel pros no added rtv is needed right?

no added rtv needed, sounds like thier could be misaligned,, which is very possible if they were not glue into place on the cover side.. but first tighten the bolts first see if that fixes the problem

Before you change out your valve cover gaskets, make sure they are properly torqued down. They are only torqued at about 8 ft. lbs. so they can easily and often become loose. This may be your problem and, if so, its an easy fix. Check it out.
