Looking for your opinion on the under hood temps of the uncoated stainless verses a coated header...

Mike I had SW uncoated before switching to TPIS coated. I can say for a fact the SW were much hotter under the hood and even inside the car. I could really feel the heat especially on the center console. They are great headers and the fit is very good but if I were you I'd get a coating on them.

Mine are uncoated and I'd say the temps are about the same as stock. I'm not all modded out in the engine compartment though. I had most of the system wrapped from the cats back and removed it when I got frustrated with it when I was installing/removing the system frequently a while back and haven't noticed a difference inside the car.

mine are coated. Heat temp is higher than stock but manageable. If you are buying a set of headers close to a grand, coating them is well worth it.

Mine are not coated and I love them. If I was concerned about underhood temps I'd contemplate wraping them. I'm not so bare they will stay, its turning into a road race car anyway.

Ceramic coated right??

If yes, then I have noticed a big drop in temps.

After running 20 minutes on the track the headers were cooled sooner that the runner!

Heat gun tells the tale,

Now this wasn't a hard core test, just random shoots, but the headers ran about 450 F when off track. The guys car next to us was over 600.

I could but my hand on them before I could touch the runners.............

Yes that was stupid...................
