I haven't been a fan of those. How about making a small bracket to move the alternator so a extra pulley isn't needed?

I have mine off. I can take pictures and measurements for you. Maybe even trace it out on a cardboard and mail it to you.
Here is what it looks like.

Shoot if you end up doing that Ch@os, count me in for one. The one thing I haven't figured out yet is what to do with the pulley, did you make that spacer or is it just round stock. I'm thinking the pulley needs a shoulder to ride on but I'm not sure.

That sounds like a good idea. Wonder if anyone has done that.

Member redrose was selling a bracket he made awhile back. I saved the pictures:
I just used a new top alternator brace:
It's less cost, less complexity, less weight, and less things that can break. Plus less parts to R&R.

I have an 85 and used the cast steel bracket for the air pump as the main piece for the bracket I made up. When the bracket was turned around it matched up with two mounting pints on the head. I got a pulley from Autozone and fabbed up a couple supports from flat stock.

with the TPI setup ,you can't move the Alt inboard enough to prevent the return side of the belt from Alt rubbing on the belt over the PS pulley
Works if you delete the A/c and run a shorter belt from Alt to WP

No I didn't make it, but it would not take much. It was on the car when I got it, if I ever have it off I will get some dimensions.

The one I have is more complicated. It fits a little better IMO..
Yours would be easier to replicate and looks great.

I made this one for my 86, to use the stock belt. If I make another one, it's going to be shorter and use whatever belt fits.
Here is some info, although the template size may vary due to different printers, the measurements are good.
