Default Under drive pulleys?

Are they a good idea?

I don't know if getting every pully is good or maybe just one of two? Not aware of these pulleys. Anyone care to comment?

They slow the alternator, a/c compressor, and power steering pump so I personally wouldnt do it for my daily driver.

Im curious to hear from others with actual experience with them (install and running with them)!

I was reading summits website and the description says better gas milage and more horse power by slowing down the components.

I want to get all the goodies I can while everything is gone and out of the engine area..So no one else has imput

Worth it to get them if you are looking for better performance. The pullies reduce the amount of power it takes to spin the components, therefore, there is more power available for acceleration.

They are worth the $$ spent....if you are looking for additional speed at the track. Purchase the THREE SET series that includes the alternator pulley. When I changed over to the March under-drive pulleys which included the alternator pulley, I actually gained alternator output. I have never had any problems with the output dropping at idle or low RPM's. If you get the two set series, it will slow down the alternator and you may have problems at lower RPM.

You will not gain HP or MPG that will be measurable. They do allow the engine to spin up faster.

My car is an L98, so its not an exact comparison but i like
mine. In a 6speed car i would do it, in an automatic, maybe
not.

Guys , a couple of months ago i was really thinking ..good or bad idea ?
i went and decided on the 4445 March Pulley set, this are called "Power and Amp Series"
i have an Automatic 87, im not sure if the power is worth or can be felt by the buttometer because i upgrade a lot of stuff at the same time but the engine does rev a lot faster
and the looks is KILLER ! Being a '94 Derek's car won't work with the 4445's
but make sure if you get this or another brand to include the alternator pulley.
I have zero problems and im very very happy with them !

I have the same ones. Little alternater pulley speeds it up and keeps it charging at idle. Used to get low volts at idle before. Can not really document the HP gains but it does not hurt, for sure.

The power steering Pulley is the best looking!!!! it looks similar to a 94-96 LT1 Pulley with 3
oblong machined slots>>> if you would like to see pic of mine I'll post them is a few

well you guys made my mind up on the pullies. I am going to get em..So all of you think I should get all of them or just a couple? They are not cheap. If they really only give looks, speed up the rpm raising and chage better at idle is it worth it? I don't know if $ 300 plus is worth it

For $300 I would do some 1.6 ratio roller rockers. They should add more hp than the pulleys. You don't have the visual aspect of pulleys but I'm more of a go than show guy.

Underdrive pullies are worth a solid .10 and 1mph in the quarter mile. Every bit helps.

I have a set of the March pulleys on my 84. I didn't do a before and after power test, but they say to figure about 13 hp at the wheels. No problems at all to report.

When driving at night with my 80w/100 headlights on, the heater blowing and the brake lights on, I will occasionally get a low voltage warning light HOWEVER, I think I still have the original 1984 alternator on the car with 130K+ miles on it. I'm sure a good alternator would have no problem keeping up with the system.

The March pulleys were $89, and a new (shorter) serpentine belt was another $40. Great deal for the advantages.
