like I said I have not seen everything no one every will. But I do not see how his trans can keep the car from pulling past 3200 RPM's. I know what you guys are saying about shift point being off and not down shifting but if in first gear that has no effect. to elimate shift points and down shifting as the problem shift it manualy. But I would assume this would have already been done if you think that is the problem. I would love to here from someone who has seen this and has an explaination for it. I have been in this bussiness for over 30 years and still love to learn new things.
With you making the above statement I would get a fuel pressure gauge taped to the windshield and see if the fuel pressure drops on wot. If not pull the cat and inspect it or run the car without it and see if it will accelerate. If the engine will not go over 3200 rpms it most likely is starving for gas or air. The engine requires more of both when driving under load. You will not pick up that in neutral. The engine with no load requires less air and gas to accelerate.
