1985 MAF Interchangeability

On a 1985, is a 1985 MAF the only one that will work, or will a later year work also.

A quick check of Ecklers shows:
1985----- 35290

86-89-----35291

I have no clue what the single digit difference means. Wonder if it has something to do with the switch from a burn off module to relays?

Took a look at Corvette Central, Granatelli MAF fits 85-89. CC also offers a reman MAF for 85-89.

It could have something to do with the tune. 85 is tuned different with a different fuel pressure and different pound injectors.

interesting........mine has bigger injectors, more fuel pressure, and a different tune, but OEM, original MAF......NO problems.......may have to look into this....you may be right, I personally don't have a clue.....

85 also uses a different fuel pressure regulator diaphram from the factory. As it is set up to run lower fuel pressure than 86-91.

Will a MAF from an 85 - 89 F-body work also, or is this a completely wrong calibration.

Another quick check, this time from Rock Auto. The 88 Firebird and Corvette use the same MAF.

From the reading I have done it looks like the 86-89 maf from the Firebird and Camaro both will work on the 86-89 Corvette..The numbers on the Firebird and Camaro Bosch mafs are #0280213004 and #0280213002..WW
