No need.Just buy a 160 degree thermostat & your engine will never overheat,even if you loose all your coolant while driving.Everyone knows thatThat guy was pissed.Now Don't get me started on Dex-cool

lol, true the t-stat debates always seem to bring out all the experts....coolant has recently been a rising star. However, I use the same as you and the amsoil ea filter. For those who like specs., the latter is the best with the exception of cost.

I'm thinking 140* w/a remote mounted reservoir may work even better

Dex-Cool??? I thought the SBC engines were air cooled, no need for all that extra weight, radiators, water and stuff.
