Default Dynomax VT's

Anyone ever run these with the flapper valve setup inside the muffler? There supposed to be drone free.
From all the replies it sounded like the Corsa's work good (no drone) the problem is I can't find just the mufflers without the whole system. I also want to keep the LT style exhaust tips.

Someone here tried them out and their car had a cam (with a decent lope)... He said that the stupid valve kept opening and closing at idle and it made a lot of noise from that...

I've got them on mine. I have AFR 195's, Lingenfelter camshaft and super ram intake. Long tubes thru a center magnaflow muffler were the resonator would be back out to two of the Dynomax mufflers with the VT valve. We've got a muffler shop here that does great work and they welded them all in and installed a set of stainless steel exhaust tips and it looks and sounds great to me. I don't have any resonance at any rpm. It is almost as quiet as stock but when you get on it it sounds great.

Good deal thats what I want to hear thanks for the replies.

cshuman -
1.)Does your cam cause your motor to lope at idle? If so how do the mufflers react to the change in idle/rpm's ? Is it enough pressure to open and shut the flapper causing a constant change in sound?

2.) Where did you get your Muff's and what did you pay for them?

THANKS!

My cam is a Lingenfelter 74211 with 1.6 rockers. It has a small lope but it does not make a sound difference with the mufflers. I got them given to me by a guy whos father works for Tenneco which I believe owns Dynomax. I told him about my combo with Magnaflow mufflers at the end of the car and he wanted me to try the VT's. You can get them from Summitt or Jebs for $99.00 each I believe. You want the offset in and center out then a good muffler shop can weld tips on for you.

Tell your friend I would be willing to test a pair for him also

Kidding aside I thought they where more $ then that. You wouldn't happen to have the part numbers would you?

I am runnig LT's with 3" tubbing, no converters, magnaflow resonator, loud-*** flowmaster mufflers. This setup is way to loud and the drone at cruising speed is no fun. It got a lttle better when I swapped rear gears but the mufflers must go, I think it would be quiter without the flowmasters and just straight pipes. Thanks for your help.

If you want 3" in and out this looks like the one. Mine were 2.25 in and out. These are actually smaller than the stock mufflers were and fit up into the body great.
