Who's the Forum's C4 Wiring Guru?
I just got my "new" old 1985 Corvette running. It was sitting about 2 years. Now its time for me to get all the brake, parking, cornering, and interior lights all working.
Im gonna need to chase stuff down I bet because I see wires hanging down in various places. Ill get pics tomorrow hopefully. I am also looking for a Factory Service Manual because the Chilton mess I got from the local parts store aint good for to much.
So who on the Forum is the go to guy for wiring questions?
Thanks Much

Go there, I have a feeling you'll have at least a handful of semi-melted connectors and plugs.

Although they're listed as Fbody wiring components it's all TPI. TPI parts has been my go to for restoring my wiring harness.
Some of those plugs such as for the fuel pump relay and fan relays are repinned with these:

I couldn't find anyone selling a replacement 4+3 overdrive relay plug to splice in. So I ordered a 25 count box of these female receptacles. Took my time with a pick set and removed the old, cruddy contacts which had frayed, damage wires out of the plastic plug, and installed the fresh new automotive wire crimped with new GM brand contacts which pinned right back in place inside the plug.
Take a look at your fuel pump relay and plug in. Someone said it in the past and it's very true: these plugs are notorious for having the wire coating decay and leave exposed, grimy, bare wire on almost all the wires coming out of it. Was the case for all my relay plugs on the engine harness excluding the cooling fans.

Better to splice in a new pigtail and fit the later style weatherpak relay

IIRC O/d relay is same as fuel pump ( wire colors different obviously )

I caught myself double checking that though. The wire I replaced the O.D. plug with matches the original gauge size. Those old contacts came out no problem. The new ones push right in and secure snug.
Vetteoz, that's exactly what my fuel pump and OD connections looked like.
