The horn switches and contact assembly which is plastic is in the steering wheel. It's behind the air bag and is falling apart and probably defective. The plastic just breaks up and the contacts touch. Easy and inexpensive repair. Got the parts at the dealership.

But first remove the air bag fuse, wait 15 minutes, then remove air bag and have a look to check it out. If that is it, then do the repair.

** Just found my link, check out the pix.

What year C-4? The steering wheel/horn assembly changed in 1990.

According to your profile you have a 2006 C-6. Maybe wrong forum?

I have an electrical shop manual and the thing that is throwing me off is turning the wheel to the lock position making it work consistently. I'll disassemble the switches and take a look.

thanks!
