Well my transmission on my car went out a few weekends ago. Now that christmas and everything is over, Im going to try to convert it to a 6 speed.
Aside from the ZF transmission itself, what else would I need to get this done?
Thanks for the info rod, it was extremely helpful.
Ive actually looked at the other threads on here about the swaps other people did. And the way I see it is regardless of what I do, my transmission went out. So Im looking to spend at least a grand either way. and around here. I wouldnt make enough off of my car to buy a stick corvette without downgrading
I've done it with my 92 convert. It is ALOT of work, especially if you want it to look like factory. You have to really love the car you have to do it. Mine was a low mile, perfect condition car that I had already updated with LT4 heads, Dana 44 rear, and other things.
Oh yeah, don't forget that the bigger rear end from a stick car would be highly recommended, for both strength and a better ratio 3.45 versus the performance ratio auto 3:07 or standard ratio auto 2.73?? whichever your car came with.
