Thanks Will.

We could meet at Capitol or MIR the next time you're at the track. Love to see you run your car.

I may attend the Super Chevy event at MIR in August.

You bet. I would really like to go run that Super Chevy race, but I have 2 points races at Mason Dixon in August and one is the same day.

August 20 is our regular scheduled race.

August 26 is a make up date for a rain out we had earlier this year.

You can look at the rest of our class schedule here and see if maybe you could make it over to Mason Dixon this season. You'd be welcome to hang out in my pit.

I know they are closing in on getting the road course 100% ready at the Dominion Raceway down in Spotsylvania... They have already had a few RR demo's and HPDE's there. I bet you'll be excited to get yours out there.

Reviving a dead thread. I just bought a ZR1 evaporator cover housing to accommodate a gen vi bbc. Does anyone know what flywheel I can use with a 1 pc rear seal external balance gen vi bbc to use the stock zf6 and clutch hydraulics? I have done a search. I figured out what it is for a t56. I found a thread with a gen vi bbc and the stock zf6 hydraulics, but there were problems, and the solution wasn’t in the thread.

I think this one will work. I have called Mcloed before, they don't answer the phone that often, and when they do, they arent that helpful.

https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Hays-...54,287154.html

I think I can use that with an LT1 clutch.

Sorry you've had problems with McLeod. They've changed a lot since Paul Lee purchased the company. They actually answer the phone and they have more than just Red answering tech questions.

Good Luck.

I went with a custom flywheel from RAM Clutches. I called them and gave them the specs for my 468 BBC (bearing, HP, TQ) and that I was putting a ZF behind it. I also switched to a hydraulic release bearing. There is a Corvette C4 specific kit that converts the clutch system to a more conventional push style, I used that as well. It wasn't a cheap option/package but it all fit and I haven't had a problem yet.

I feel bad because i’m basically running 2 bbc threads simultaneously, but I noticed I got responses here last time.

were any of you guys able to drop the BBC in without relocating the rack? I was going to do it this weekend, but when I got down to it, thats no small task. If its oossible to avoid doing this, I would like to.

I sent you a PM as well. But for documentation purposes, I did have to relocate the steering bracket forward. It was more of a leaning forward than a full-on relocation but it was cut, positioned, rewelded.

I didn't have to move or modify the steering rack.

But I did have to use a short water pump.

I have two pulleys on the harmonic balancer. A serpentine belt for the water pump, power steering pump and alternator plus a Gilmore belt for the dry sump.

You should have plenty of space for a single serpentine belt. March has a short water pulley setup with a single belt that runs the A/C, water pump, alternator and P/S.

Good luck.

I've researched for details of doing this swap...'nuff said!!!

Oh...I think I'd like this to all happen under a stock hood. What options are out there to make that happen???

Winston, I’m really sorry to even ask, but is there any way I could get you to give me a measurement from the face of the harmonic balancer to the steering rack?

i looked into the march system, they want more for the pulleys and brackets than i have in the engine, rebuil, cam and valvespring upgrade, conversion flexplate, and water pump lol.

i have a theory, but I won’t be in front of my vette for a couple of weeks.

I’m working on that too. Its hard. Stock sbc or lt1 China wall of block to hood is 10.75 in the reAr, approximately 9.75 in the front. I figure 10.25-10.5 in the middle.

a Bbc bolted with the stock sbc mounts is exactly 1” taller.

holley bbc efi oval port intake and the edelbrock vic jr efi oval port are both 6” tall (5.96) from china wall to 4150 carb pad.

the edelbrock 4150 tb i sam using is right at 3” tall. Itll fit, i have to be creative with air cleaner options.

accufab makes one that is exactly 2.5” tall that is a really nice piece, but its also exactly double the price of the edelbrock unit.

with standard length injectors, the fuel rails interfere with a 2” drop base intake base, but a 1” drop 14”round fits.

with ls3 height/style injectors a 2-2.5” drop base will fit because the fuel rails sit lower. So you could run a 2-3” tall 14” round air cleaner with a k&n style 14” filtered lid, and it would probably feed enough air. It would probably be extremely warm (HOT) C4 corvette underhood air. It can be done, but theres some engineering to be done.

if you run a 4bbl efi system like the holley sniper efi, or the ez-efi alot of people are running, an oval port torquer 2 intake with the 4 bbl unit on top will work just fine.

plan on at least home porting a torker 2. They are a little rough.
