Default 1993 Corvette TPS Replace - Tech 1 Reset

Guys
the book says when you replace the TPS on the 1993 you have to reset it with a Tech 1 tool...is there another way to reset it?
Thanks

Driving it works just as well; but to give it a fresh start, disconnect and reconnect the battery. That clears whatever is the learned voltage which is essentially what the Tech 1 accomplishes.

GM Factory Manual calls it out for everything with a "Fixed" TPS so the PCM retains BLM (Long Term Fuel Trim) in memory. It's no big deal. It wasn't set at the Factory with a Tech 1 or anything else. The PCM was flashed for whatever equipment it got and it was bolted together and started for the 1st time (the motor was only spun cold at the Engine Plant) when it rolled off the line. BLM's are retained from whatever it did the last time you drove it and whatever they are when you drive it after clearing memory will be retained/learned again. The TPS isn't that "fixed" anyway. It has a starting point, but the Engineers knew that wear (resistance really) might take a toll over time so if it drops a point or two from where it started, it's still recognized as idle voltage. When you replace it, you just want to get back to that starting point which is usually anywhere from .62 to .72 volts depending on application, so you clear Memory and you're done with it.
