Transmission Fluid change?
My 87 vette has about 65k on it. A complete tune up has been done to it. My buddy has advised me not to change the transmission fluid as the fluid may be so old and thick that new, clean, transmission fluid will cause the car not to shift 
Is there any truth to this?

It has relatively low miles on it. I highly doubt it would do anything. Go ahead and do a 100% fluid exhange, THEN change the filter. You don't want to run old transmission fluid through a brand new filter.
