It needs to be able to work on my WIN98SE Laptop and my Win2K desktop.. Also want it to be able to program the 29256 EEPROMs as well as the 27256 EPROMs
Needhams has one I think the EMP10 or 11. and there is the procket Programmer.
I have a Needhams PB10 ISA one, but my new PC has no ISA slots and the PB10 is not supported for WIN2K or the 29256 EEPROMS
Re: Need a new PROM Programmer.. Which one? (-=Jeff=-)
I had the PB-10 and sold it to buy the EMP-10. Since I was used to Needham's software, I figured I'd stick with their stuff. I'm happy with it so far, but haven't done any 29xxx chips with it.

GOTTEM under ATMEL.
Alright!!!
Is there some null value you can write to them to "erase" them?
Or is erasing only done with come combination of pin voltages?
I've got one here I just got from Craig Moates and there's no "window" on it.
Maybe I could put it in the Microwave . ..... :nono:
BTW: The EMP-10 I got only came with DOS software.
So you have to take your Super Barnburner WIN2K Server and boot it with something like a DOS 6.22 disk.... bummer.
MP: Do you know of other software that will work with the EMP-10 and pull it into the 20th Century?
Re: Need a new PROM Programmer.. Which one? (VetNutJim)
I'm using my EMP-10 under XP in a dos window..... Also used it under NT4 and 2000 previously. There is an NT patch that you can download from Needham's, and after installing that the software works fine. You have to run it full screen, not windowed, but it works!
