Has anyone pulled their ECM/engine harness in their C4? What is involved, I understand that I will probably need to pull some of the upper intake off & remove the starter. Anything else? Any hard to reach connections?

Anyone price an ECM harness lately?
I pulled my 89 harness.. left the starter in.. in fact I left the motor together and just pulled the Distributor cap and rotor off.. fairly easy to remove. there is a pass trough on the Passenger side behind the head.. 2 7mm bolts and also the ECM harness connector behind the battery.. you need to unbolt both harnesses and then split the body and ECM ones apart. The connector at the battery has one bolt holding them on.. it is snawiched between the 2 but there is access to it.

So the body and ECM are intermingled together? How long did it take you to do? The body harness scares me a little, it looks like it goes everywhere. Will I have to pull most of the body harness to seperate the ECM?

No the ECM and Body harness are not intermingled.. but that the C100 Firewall connector the 2 harnesses plug together and then the body harness bolts to the female dash side of the C100 connector. this then keeps the ECM harness connected.. Make more sense?
this is the ONLY place were the Body and ECm harnesses join together.. My guess if you are comfortable with swapping the harnesses I would say 4hours MAX..

It makes sense, I have had the C100 connector disconnected for troubling shoting an interior electrical short.
