Default Oil cap vs. Breather
Is there any benefit to using a breather instead of just an oil fill cap on valve covers?

I'm not sure but I believe it aids in lowering crackcase pressure.

I would suggest to leave it as it is. I bypassed the stock PCV system and used a couple breather caps for a while. They could not evacuate the pressure without blowing oil out of the breathers. I reinstated my stock PCV system and ditched the breathers for now.

Don't fix what isn't broken.
