Default Shifter removal?

Putting in my tranny. I need to take out my shifter to get my trans mounted. I took the 4 top bolts off and now I can see inside my shifter area. Where do I go next?

I am trying to youtube videos for it but no luck

You don't need to remove your shifter to get it back in the car. If I recall correctly, you put the shifter in third gear to clear the hole in the trans tunnel.

Derek, on a previous post, I commended you for taking on these projects by yourself. Again, you will really be doing yourself a favor if you get a factory service manual. It will give you detailed instructions and pictures on everything you can possibly do to your car. Right now you are stumbling along blindly asking questions as you go. It would be so much easier for you to open to page 311 and see the step by step instructions to remove and replace whatever. You will have the correct torque values and won't have to rely on possibly incorrect information from others. Just trying to help. Willie
