I just replaced my transmission out of my 90 vette. And now it won't start. I am wondering if the timing is off. If so, how would I time it to the correct mark. Any help would be great!
Make sure you connected everthing that you removed for the transmission work.
If your sure the timing is "off" - key the starter until you can get your timing mark on your balancer to line up with the 0 mark on the timing tab. Pull the distributor and drop it back in on number 1 (50/50 shot of getting it 180 out). Or be more exact and pull a valve cover, sparkplug(s)or use a piston stop.
That worked thank you all so much. One more question you might be able to help me with, when i put it into reverse it shook a lot. I know i lost some fluid, could this be my problem?

Did the shaking stop? Did it shake in forward? Have you added fluid? Did it shake while in either Neutral or Park(out of gear)?
I did add some fluid but realizes it leaks out of the dipstick tube gonna fix that tomorrow. Yes it only shakes when i put it in gear, doesnt shake if its in park or neutral.
