Talking about thermostats ..A wile back in my 96 LT-4 put two news ones in overheated in about two min. both would not work.... Took the old one out of the can and put it back in works fine.. Got to be old I did this a year ago and don't know how it was in the car already.. I got the new ones at the auto crap places ..Who makes a good one ??? Thanks..

I had thermostat problems also. I went to Advance Auto parts and got the OEM Standt thermostat and never had any more problems. The non-OEM ones didn't even look like a LT1 thermostat and for some reason they opened too far and bound sideways. They were moving too far or something weird. Never had seen that before. This was done on 2 new non-OEM stats over a 2 day period.. The Standt fixed that problem.

Thanks, I might OMG go the the GM parts place . Way too much crap parts going for the real thing for the C-4s you don't know real or what so sad... I doing a new cooling sys. on my 96 I take a look at the Standt one...

No thermostat that's back in the flat head days old timey stuff.. To make a cooling sys work you need to knok what's going on in the sys.. Radiator holds the water cools off thermostat opens up let's out the cool water let's in the hot and on and on ..Something like that...
