Thanks to all that commented on my panel.

Sorry, I don't know. Bought it from a former C4 owner in Denver who never installed it, and I lost his info when my laptop was stolen. I like it. Thanks for the compliment. Cheers.

In my 1985 Corvette the breadbox does not seem to open, its just there and looks like a airbag could be hiding in it. Does anyone know if there is an airbag inside because its so bulk and it must do something.

No air bag. The breadbox storage is after market, they are not supposed to open.

I would like to know how one fits the standard vent. I pulled my breadbox out and found that the vent body is much too long to fit on the flat plate? Or was another vent used?
Was it modified in some way?
From Agent86's photos the plate sits on the outside of the mounting holes on the centre face plate and the outside.
Now to make a templete and check the fitting.
Regards.

Pull that flex tube out.
Measure the before/after distance to approximate the necessary reduction in tube length
Cut the tube just after it bends outward toward the vent.
Cut it again a least 1-2" less that the amount needing to be removed
(Make your cuts in the low area of the accordian.)
Make 4 short radial slits in the tube.
This helps you push the tube (overlap it) back together.
If done correctly, you won't even need adhesive.
Install vent and new panel

Here's mine, I covered it with black carbon fiber film. The one pic shows my vent hose I bought at Ace then spray painted the inside black so it didn't show through the vent.
