Are you at least going to pull out the "mystery" bolt or did you already do that and I missed it?
Yes, that is on the agenda also!!! I'm also replacing the oil pump shaft. The bottom end is going to be untouched as of this second. I'm debating replacing the main bearings, but have not decided. I'm just looking to buy enough time with this bottom end so that I can save up for a 383 bottom end.
I put the intake back on last weeked after having it cut. I'll finish up and start it this weekend. If I still leaks I'll yank the motor again and drop the whole thing off at the machine shop. Not being able to drive it is KILLING me.
With those heads and a SuperRam it usually ran 13.2@108+ normally aspirated, with a best of 13.2@110. People have run better with the same parts but I was happy :)
It MPH'ed pretty good but the ET sucked eggs. I'm currently looking for the normally aspirated dyno sheet, I'll send it to you.

Only thing I did to tune it was turn up the fuel presure and use an ADS SuperChip (all I had at the time).
I would love to be able to do that. I'm sure that having a whole Snap-On truck to call upon removes my major source of fear - that I'll be deep into a project when I discover I don't have that one last critical tool...
Of course, being that my '93 is my ONLY car, I have to take on projects that I can do over a weekend, with absolutely NO need to go anywhere (for, say, gaskets I forgot I needed) until I finish.
Matt, thanks. :) Trust me I was in your situation since 4/00 getting the Corvette. I watched everyone do their buildups while I could only buy parts and throw them on my bedroom floor. I could only do something that was finished by the next morning to go to work.
It wasn't until MrViperGTS from the forum graciously handed me the '84 Camaro that I was able to do this.
Yes, the Snap-On truck helps a lot for those "specialty" items. To be honest the thing that helps the most is the knowledge here on the forum and my dad's years of being a gearhead & professional mechanic when he was younger to guide me when I stumble.
Re: [Tear Down Update]: Making More Progress! (Glock'94)
Looks good scorp. Mine's going to look real similar soon, and I can't wait to get the parts out of my basement and kitchen!
Axles, posi diff, accel base, slp runners, fuel rail, wiring harness, PROM burning equipment, PROMs, ECM, valve covers and a pile of other crap.... all in my kitchen :D
I just wish I had the money for heads and a roller cam. :nopity
Re: [Tear Down Update]: Making More Progress! (scorp508)
I'll be really interested what your new E.T. will be with these changes. I always thought you were so cool for pulling down 13's in a mostly stock car.
Re: [Tear Down Update]: Making More Progress! (scorp508)
  Good to see you getting on this project, that car should move when you're done.
I need to talk my dad into becoming a Snap-On dealer, or at least talk to my Snap-On guy about letting me borrow the truck for a little while. My Snap-On collection is a little small, but it gets the job done.
Looking great dude!
I have a suggestion...if you can,and do plan to swap cams, check the cam bearings if you can,be sure theyre not shifted or showing any wear down copper like color.May be hard to see them when the block is in the car.
Your motor looked nice and clean though, should be allright.
:)
He must be wrenching like a madman today! Near 70 and the clouds are just covering things slightly(Here in CT anyway) I ran in to a sprinkle or two so my top's back on and it's in the garage.
Scorp, be sure to post a few pics of todays progression. Of course you wouldn't let us down.
