You can make an adaptor harness(color of the wires are the same) for the est from donor cars at a junkyard, you can get the dist. & the coil there too.

Anything from a late 3rd Gen F- Body or early '90's TBI truck engine
Get the large plug that go into dist (with a pigtail ) , the lead with small plug that runs to the coil and the other coil connector ( with pigtail ) and you have all you need for small cap conversion

Anyone got a wiring diagram of the setup ?.. would like to see that.

Question, what about the Ign modules inside the Dist.. are they compatible?, is there any tuning required or ??

Thanks..

I went to a local wrecking yard and got all the pigtails - they charged me $1.00. The link above would have cost me ~$60.00.
Got them off a TBI truck.

I have the wiring diagram:

Wiring to dist is the same and both styles function exactly the same.
Problem arises because HEI has a large plug on the control wire from the dist body and the small cap has plugs in the dist body itself ; hence the need for a wiring adapter.
Small cap also has 2nd connection shown above for the remote mounted coil

Might consider working the stealth ram over or better yet go straight to the miniram that cam will want some rpm. A converted LT1 intake can be done for a little less...not quite as good as the mini but with some porting can work good.

Good head at least 11:1 some low gear to make it work.

Did you actually READ the MSD instructions I linked in post # 15

You are only changing the coil wiring using the 2 wire connector to connect to the remote coil;
wires to base on small cap dist are same as wires to base on HEI so nothing changes there
