so if im using the plug out of the distributor for the coil what do i do with the wires coming out of the 6al that go to the coil?

The 6AL manual shows the correct wiring schematic, just follow the directions.

are you using the dual-connector remote coil? are you using the MSD adapter wiring harness 8876? I have the MSD 6AL with my small-cap distributor, and with the MSD wiring harness (sold separately, of course), it was a really simple install.

I'm using an mgd coil my distributor has two plugs off of it one four wire and one two wire I'm using a blaster coil I'm stumped lol it was simple converting large cap hei to remote coil with msd box but shoot I'm lost now
