Default Wheel offset question

Hello, I aquired a set of 17X9.5 wheels from a 200x Firehawk, they are
50mm offset. My 91 C-4 has the same size wheel but in a 56mm offset.
Difference of about 1/4". So they would be 1/4" more to the inside of
the car. Can I use these? Think they'll rub on the rotors? Will be mounting
285/40-ZR17 tires. Will the tires rub inside wheelwells? Or should I go with 275/40-17's and not 285's? Will it even be noticeable just looking at the car that the wheels aren't out as far, or make a diff in driving it? If they make 1/4" spacers, do I really need them?

Thanks much,

Dan

....... It seems that you own the wheels ... if so , mount one used tire of the size you would like to run and test run the car with it mounted in each corner and see if it works ... if you can see a quarter inch difference then you have excellent vision !

Its the other way around.

50mm offset will sit outboard 1/4" more.

Outboard more? Ok. Then it should not be that big a deal. I think.
Anyone else think I'll have any problems using these?

As C409 said above; you already have the wheels .
Bolt then up and check it out ; then you can tell everyone if they work or not

Thanks, Dan

I finally got the car out of storage and test fit these
F-body Firehawk wheels, 17X9.5 with 50mm offset. They
mounted right up and look great. A nice alternative wheel
that can be used on the newer C4's. I think these look better
than Zr-1's, with the thinner spokes and flat center, but not
as thin of spokes as the C5(?) wheels that look similar. WAY
better than the sawblades. And since I painted the calipers
too while I had the wheels off, seeing the rotors and calipers
thru the wheels looks just fine to me, no need to hide it all behind
sawblades as some have thought. Of course, all this is IMHO.
