Default Running problems with my 93

Whats up guys

Im having a problem with my 93 6 speed. A few months ago while driving home from work the car started sputtering, and parley made it home. I assumed iut was the opti, and i threw a new one on, but while taking it apart i noticed that the coil wire had popped off and was arcing causing the problem. I put the new opti on (the old one was new but was under warranty so i replaced it) and it still wouldnt run with the new opti and new coil wire. The car then sat for a few months and now im trying to get it running.

Last night i had my noid light on the injectors, and my spark tester on the plug wire. With my ignition module i had fire at the injectors (which ohm to about 11.6 each) but no spark. Cool, Ill throw another module that i have laying around on there. I put it on and then i had spark, but it wasnt firing the injectors, but it would run on break clean meaning that the engine mechanical was in good shape. Today I went and got a new module from advance, and now I have spark and the injectors are firing, but it still wont run.

It will crank and seem to want to try, but it wont catch, and after cranking the engine will pop out the intake a couple times like its trying to run but somethings out of wack. I cant get it fire with break clean at all now. It just cranks. I pilled a plug, and im getting spark at the correct time, on tdc.

Im not too sure whats going on here, but it seems to have everything it needs to run, Spark compression and fuel. Im stumped on this one. Im a mechanic full time, and this one is kicking my ***..any help would be great. Thanks guys

Just some info:

New Opti
New ICM
Vats disabled with a resistor
Valvetrain moving, so chains good.
All injectors are firing
Has spark, and it seems to be at the right time
Frustrated owner, im gonna burn it!

Thanks for any help!

If you've already confirmed you have good spark, the next area to look at is fuel delivery. Check what your fuel pressure is. Lol, I've felt like burning mine a few times, but be patient and it will pay off.

Default If your one tooth off it may not start.

Are you absolutely sure that you have the shaft aligned correctly in the opti. Was the missing tooth correctly set? Did the opti go on with slight pressure and contact the timing cover. The opti bolts should not have pulled the opti to the timing cover but only held it in place.

If you run out of ideas, you may need to pull the opti to check it. Do not install pump again before engine is running.

Just check the ECT sensor on the pump to make sure it is connected and OK.

Yup, the opti slid right on, flush with the block before i bolted it up. I feel i may need to pull the opti again. I tried to start it with the pump off when i put it on, and it wouldnt run but with winter coming fast i had to get the water pump on, so I could get some coolant in it. I did some tests that I found on the forum, and everything comes back to the opti being good. I may just pull it and see whats going on.

Thanks guys

....... You might want to double check the spark plug wiring from the OPTI ... its very easy to get wires in the wrong sockets .....
