Default Heater box removal, firewall cover plate, take 2 (PICS)

Alright here's round 2. The result was alot better this time. The engine bay will be completely repainted this summer when i put in the 396. Put a protective piece around the hole(thanks Jim!) and also mounted what i think is the MAP sensor?? for ease of access

I alos re routed my spark plug wires for a cleaner look. Got the idea from a thread on here.

Let me know what you think

Looks good! Interesting idea with the top alternator brace into the water pump.

Thanks! yeah i thought that was interesting also. Was done by the previous owner. I'll be relocating the alternator to the passenger side because I'll be running an electric water pump soon. Still drawing that up yet though, got lots of ideas swimming around up there

AH HA! Well that would explain alot. The other night when i disconnected it and left it out of the car while i was working on this my battery went completely dead overnight! Then when i jumped it the check engine light was on. so while it was running i plopped that back on. voila, all better.

Oh I guess someone has done it that way already. Got the idea from a circle track racer who is quick on that stuff, still pretty cheap compared to the kits people sell. Shoot you can have that set up with polished linkage for a fraction of the price of the other kits out there. Glad to hear it was working for you.

If you read the link I posted
you will see Mr Aardwark cheaped out and reused the old brace off the rear of the A/c compressor
as his new Alt brace when he deleted the A/c compressor and AIR pump
as has been done in your car

Dang Rodj, nice work! Haha, I had seen Red's which looks to be the next closest, they don't utilize the bolt on top of the water pump though which is exactly like Dr. Huxtable's does. Mseven's is awesome but this way avoids the whole March relocater thing. Either way, thanks for the links and I'll stop before I completely hi-jack the thread.

Thanks

The plate prob weighed a pound maybe a pound and a half at max. I gotta get this car on a scale. There has been ALOT of weight removal

Yeah i read the whole thing, had already read through that entire thread a week or two back. That's where i got the idea to do mine! I just didn't use the gasket that he did. I was just confused when you said he spent more money than i did is all since his was free besides buyin the belt. Both look great though! He has a crazy clean engine bay. mine will never be that clean, i'll be beatin the tar out of it at the drag strip
