Water Pump Seal Installation....AGAIN
Okay, I have read through many postings.....still not sure...thought I knew, now I am doubting myself.
My "How to Rebuild Small-block LT1/LT4 Engines" does not mention anything....just install the seal in the timing cover and then put it on.
So the FelPro WP seal has a black lip on the inside and a yellow one on the outside. The black seal lip is toward the block, the yellow seal lip is away from the block
IS THIS THE WAY THE SEAL GOES ONTO THE WP DRIVE SHAFT??
I have the home-made tool....highlighter body cut to the correct diameter....which direction does the seal go onto the tool....black seal first or yellow seal first???
Going to do install everything tomorrow.

I just want to make sure I have it correct. I think the WP seal goes onto the tool with the black lip at the smaller diameter and then you push it towards the end that fits over the WP drive shaft.
Correct??
