Hello, im having a intermittent H16, sometimes it does it, sometimes it don't. When it sets a code it cuts out at around 4000rpm and sometimes at 5500 and you can hear it popping out the exhaust. A few times it actually killed the engine completely. I have a dynaspark in it, it only has about3000 miles on it. I put new wires and plugs in it also. Could it be the ICM?

Code 16 is a low resolution code for the opti circuit. The "H" means it's a history code-not a "hard' constant fault. Could be the opti itself-the ECM or the wiring between the two. I'd check very closely the opti harness itself (this a short harness which connects the opti to the engine harness)--be sure the connector at the opti is clean/tight-not corroded or contaminated---check the other end also which connects to the engine harness above the right valve cover. Inspect the wiring itself in this harness for breaks--rubbing and bare wires. These harnesses are prone to cause problems and when I replace a opti I usually replace the harness also. Your "newish" opti may be the problem but since the problem is intermitent (if there was no low resolution signal at all-you'd have a no start) that would just be a guess. Hopefully you'll find/see something with the harness itself.
