ABS 1992 Vette
I am about to buy a 1992 matt black vette as my 1991 vette's engine is broken and here in Itay it wouldn't be convenient to fix.
As I tried this car yesterday, I noticed a few things and I would like some advises about them...
1) I don't see, just after beginning to drive after starting the car, the light "ABS on" that I used to see in my old car as a standard routine check. The owner confirmed me that the ABS works fine, but I'd like to know whether it is normal or not
2) When I switched the AC on, I didn't hear the compressor kicking in and the fan didn't automatically start up like in my old C4. The AC seems to be normally working, so is it also normal?
Thank you very much, as I am doing my best to buy a car in good working conditions!

They do not have the 92 owners manual, but the 93 should be very similar, just keep in mind Passive Keyless Entry was new for 93 and not available in 92.
When you say the fan does not run when turning on the AC do you mean the blower for inside air distribution or the engine cooling fan? If the car has Electronic Climate control there may be some delay before the blower starts after cooling is selected, the engine cooling fan should start when the compressor clutch engages. If the AC is cooling the compressor must be running, but to verify have someone else turn on the AC with the hood open while you observe the clutch, it may just be quieter than your 91. Good luck.

I was referring to the engine cooling fan, so I'll check all the things you told me.
So, is it possibile for the ABS to work despite the lack of the initial bulb check. I see the light "ABS" when I turn the key on "start", then all lights go off, but as I start, I don't see the "ABS" light appearing again, followed by the little "pressure" on the brake pedal as with my 91...
Please, give me also an advise for this!
Again I would refer to you to the owners manual link, in particular pages 117 and 173 through 175.
Also note that the 92 has ASR or Acceleration Slip Regulation which the 91 does not. ASR is linked to the ABS so you should also read those portions of the owners manual to understand normal operation, hope that helps.
