87 exhaust system question......

Would a crossover pipe on the rear y-pipe really do a good job of removing resonance or do I just need to install quiet mufflers.

It helps very much with eliminating resonance and drone from the exhaust system on a C4.
Have Muffler eliminators and the rear crossover pipe on my 87 Vert.
Bought my Vert with it installed new by previous owner.
Very nice driving around in town or cruising down the highway.
But gets loud when I floor my car hard. And the exhaust roar is very satisfying to me then at WOT.

Sort of best of both worlds.
