So I am trying to install a Automatic Shift Control Harness on my 92 Corvette. I purchased the harness from Mid America and the instructions they give you are crap. I need help from anyone on this forum that has done this mod or that has pictures of how to do it. The harness that I pulled off the trans is different then the plug that is on the new harness from Mid America. I am going nuts trying to figure this out
Automatic Shift Control Harness
Someone please help.
What is it supposed to do?
Got a link?
92 has a NON electronic trans so you can't control anything electronically
Only thing " electronic" in the 4l60 trans is the torque convertor lockup; just a simple OFF/ON wire
So it is not a " Shift Control " ; just a manually operated switch to turn off the convertor lockup.
Could do same with <$5 worth of parts from Radio shack
Their documention is wrong anyway "a fluid activated switch controls the torque converter lockup"
Convertor lockup is controlled by the TCC settings programmed in the computer
My converter is locked to gain one and a half tenths in the quarter.
Just curious how a locked converter would help E.T. in the quarter? Are you running some Tall gears? I would think the opposite would be true unless a change in factory gearing? Please educate me. Are you using a toggle switch to turn it on? Thanks!
