hey guys. i just got my gm performance jim pace catolog, and i saw the lt4 hotcam in there for what looked like a decent price but i also saw the whole kit to make your lt1 an lt4. and from what it looked like they had all the parts from the "lt4 conspiricy theory" like the bigger throttle body the correct gaskets that dont restrict flow and the lt4 HOTCAM instead of the regular lt4 cam. anyway this should obviously put out more power than the regular production 1996 lt4 right? well i keep reading down and they say with this kit installed on an lt1 it will make "425+" horsepower!!!! thats a hell of a lot of horsepower for a little over two grand! has anyone ever done this kit? what kind of time/ dyno numbers did you get? 425 horsepower on a c4 should be getting low 12s or high 11s i would think!
I wouldn't get too excited. I have an LT4 with 52mm T-body and am installing the new gaskets and the hot cam and I don't expect anywhere near that much HP. Does this company have a web site? I'd like to see the ad. I know GMPP has a site but maybe Jim Pace has a site. I wish it were true.

Re: lt1-lt4 kit (1996man)
If it looks to good to be true it usually is.This is the case here.
You would still need to have the heads ported and the intake opened up for a 52mm TB. It's cheaper to have your LT1 heads done and you'll go just as fast. Just look at my car.
The 425+ HP figure was with the engine on a engine dyno with all the parts-so rated at flywheel in gross format. It is accurate...as stock LT4 is near 390 again in gross hp ratings.
I just added a HOT cam to my LT4 (Corsa cat back) and sitting at a gain of 43 over stock...:)
