Anybody have experience with what it feels like when a differential is just starting to go bad?

.......... Aside from bearing issues which will usually result in strange whirring or whining noises ... most rear end problems are of the catastrophic nature ... like broken parts that tend to break other parts , etc. .... the latter generally results in no more locomotion ... lock-up style ... What are you experiencing ?? ........... Pardon my ignorance ... but what is OS Giken ?

When I was running a dana 44, I would hear a big bang as soon as the light turned green. The car would move forward a couple of feet and then stop, the engine would hit redline. I would shut the motor off, open the door, walk around to the back of the car and look under the rear.
Either; 1, a 1/2 shaft was flailing around making a big mess or 2, a ring gear or spider gear had broken and everything looked cool on the outside. Either way, it was time to winch the carcass back on the trailer and limp home. This is what normally happened to me. Willie

What I am getting is an occasion feeling like the car isnt fully hooking up. Same thing I felt when I got on, off, on again the Cadillac super charged. The computer would cut acceleration on and off. Well I am hooking up and it feels like it's sliding in 1st and 2nd. Only occasionally. I have replaced the clutch, flywheel SPEC, and the clutch master and slave. This occurs during wide open throttle, during my autocross starts.

An OS Giken is a really high end Limited Slip Differential a number of the top Solo II teams hear in California are running these days.
