Default Did I loose performance with this setup????Exhaust!!!!

I got rid of the main Cat and the rear Y-pipe and Elims. Please keep in mind I had to do this at home. I went from the end of the front Y-pipe into a 3" pipe about 2 1/2 ft long into a 40 series Flowmaster 3" inlet with daul 2 1/2" with 2 polished tips on it. The back end of the muffler sets roght under the rear end center. This looks great and sounds so mean it's unbeliveable... But it's kind of loud.... I waant to know if I have lost my low end T.... What do you guys think? I did this because I was sick of the way the custom rear Y-pipe I had done 2 times came out. It looked like crap, and I got rid of all the smog junk, I still need to get rid of the EGR stuff... I hae to see if I can buy a plate or do I have to make one to put in it's place...Don't know this one.

Please give me your input....
Thanks

I never lost anything with the flowmasters. For that matter I probably didn't gain anything either, except for a wicked sound outside and some resonance inside. I didn't even lose any low end with the headers, I just picked up a mound of torque right around 4500 RPM's

Keep in mind, I am only using 1 Flowmaster and no rear Y-pipe...It dumps right under the rear end... It feels good, but I don't know....A TON of resonance though.....But very mean......

Thanks for the info...

If it pulls well off the line and still breakes the tires loose, don't worry about it. I would however worry about dumping the exhaust under the car!

You can get an EGR blockoff plate at TPIS.

Thanks guys,

It has no problems breaking the tires loose....and does it with ease.... Why the worry about dumping exhaust under the car? It's all the way to the rear end. I don't smell any fumes at all except in the garage, and thats only cause it's backed in. I did notice the RPM range moved up the scale, seems to just want to keep pulling....It didn't do that before.... I still have the stock front Y-pipe with the precats... I need to get rid of that too with a new front Y with no precats.

How much does the EGR plate cost?

Thanks again, if anyone else wants to chime in......
