electric water pump question

electric water pump question
OK my manual water pump went out replaced it.Now i have bought an electric water pump can i use my old housing (the one that went out) for the electric water pump so that i don't have to tear up my good manual pump. If so any tips anything i should look for? Thanks Chris

Definitely use your old one as the donor! I have had the Meziere electric pump in the stock pump housing for almost 10 years now. I did have to have the electric one rebuilt about 4 years ago.

I think when I bought the electric pump, it came with the right size plug. Did yours not come with one? It's been too long for me...

The Meziere pump comes with a plug for the water pump housing, not the timing cover.

You can leave the water pump drive in place, some do. But, eventually you will more than likely develope an oil leak.
