Remember my cam thread, the other day. Was picking a flat tappet cam for my C4. Heres the whole story. I was driving home and the oil pressure was doing funny stuff on the highway. Cruising at 40#, dropped to 25, back up to 35. Pulled into hte garage and watched it drop to 2#. Clicked it off and assumed it killed a rod bearing. To busy to take it apart, I startid thinking I could just put the spare in it. Low mile 4 bolt main, flat top motor. Just needed an appropriate cam, so I started a thread.
Fast forward to Thursday. Finally time to go look at it. Out to the garage and 45 minutes later, the oil pan was off. The oil pump pick up screen was laying in the pan. Must have just been hanging loose. Pulled a rod cap off each throw and they all looked great. Put in a new pump and pick up since I was there and took it for a drive. 25-30# at hot idle in gear. Back up motor can stay on the stand.
Damn, I've now got three cams not needed since I decided to go with a roller block. I was hoping to maybe unload one on you! Glad your problem wasn't serious though.
