Cleaning/painting calipers
I'm installing new rotors and pads all around on my 96 CE this week and want to clean up the calipers to look new. I'm planning to use engine enamel to take the heat but, need to see what color everything should be. The calipers are currently black with CORVETTE in silver and I plan to touch them up. The caliper bracket on mine looks like it was bare steel and now has surface rust on it. Should this be silver?
Any chance someone has a picture of stock brake setup that's fairly new/clean so I can see the different colors?

The caliper brackets came from the factory in bare metal...you have the option on using a steel brush to clean them up and or painting them.The caliper housing itself came from the factory painted black with polished lettering exposed on all CE's. Look into Dupli Color paint specifically for brakes...it's pretty good and comes in a good assortment of colors. There are some good threads here on painting your calipers...try doing a search.
