Tire Rack sells an aftermarket unit for 229.00 for all four sensors and a display unit. Given the cramped confines of the C4 I figure it would end up requiring a remode display with audible warning which is another 50.00. Ends up as a net of ~280.00. The aftermarket unit seems to have some neat functionality such as being able to set the desired set and alert pressures. The trade off is it is not a factory piece and would require some installation (which I could do).
Does anyone have experience with the aftermarket systems or are their any aftermarket sensors which work with the factory pieces?

Check with 18carfan (Jeff Kopp) on the forum too. He will usually match prices.
I installed the TireRack Smart Tire system in my wife's minivan a couple of weeks ago. Lots of great features, like you mentioned. I think it was worth it since she wrecked a set of tire buy running them under inflated.
Thought about the same thing for the vette two. Those stock sensors are becoming hard to come by.
The only major difference is the Vetts are self powered while that Smart Tire system uses Lithium batteries. They say they will last 5 years, but we will see.
The price is right compared to the GM cost, and like you said, much better features. :yesnod:
