I have a 1990 with 98,500 miles. I drive the car once or twice a week. The last two times I have driven the car, I had idling problems. When the car starts cold, the engine idles at 1500-1800 rpms (around 1,100 rpms in gear). The engine will idle fast no matter how long you drive it, unless after it reaches normal temperature you turn off the ignition and restart the engine. Then it idles normal at 650 rpms in gear. It will idle fine until the engine completely cools down. Then it repeats the problem. The battery, alternator, fuel pressure, and fuel injectors check out ok. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have any vacuum leaks? Did this just start out of the blue?
The idling problem just started immediately. I checked for vaccum leaks and couldn't find any. Also, the throttle is returning against the stop. I will check to see if the IAC port is clogged next and report the outcome. Thanks.
