1984 ECM location?

1984 ECM location?
If any one could help with the location of the ECM in an 84 with an automatic. My brother has an 84 and we are attempting to replace the ECM as soon as we figure out where it is located. Thanks for any help.

It is mounted above the passengers feet. It is NOT necessary to remove the "bread box" ( that pillow shaped object in the front of the dash on the passengers side, that looks like a big loaf of bread ). There may be a panel above the passengers feet that needs removal,

Remove 4 or so 7mm head screws on black panel with light passenger foot area. ECM is held in by two 10mm head bolts (White plastic bezl) ECM has 2 thick harnesses going to it,
Note
once you have the ECM out make sure to install the E-Prom from old ECM into the replacement or install a correct or trusted upgraded if one is available for year, either way it needs a E-Prom when it goes back in.
