I just bought this 87 roadster and have noticed that it runs very rich. Where should I start to look? I'm an old mechanic and have checked the plugs, etc...all seem fine...p.s. starts are very long...could this be the cold start injector? I have multimeter and a few other test pieces but, I thought you folks could possibly steer me in the right direction as I am sure some of you have been there! Don't have any decent manuals yet but, am in process of getting some...Anyone know where to get or if repair/electrical CDs are available for this model.
TIA,
Bill
87 Vette Roadster
86 635 CSi
55 Doretti
And a couple of Chevy Trucks
I bet its the O2 sensor.DOnt get one from NAPA
There about 50 bucks from Chevy. :chevy
You could find some one with a scanner.they work miracles. :blueangel:
Do you have any codes?
A code 44 means lean,(stuck O2)which makes the computer tell the injectors to dump more fuel.
