Code 43 was a faulty ECM
I finally figured out my code 43 by following the Mitchell GM book. It lead me to the ECM. I was a bit hesitant to spend the cash, but a friend got me one for $70.00 :) I guess I will put a little more faith in the Mitchell service manuals. I just photo copied all the service code and wiring diagrams from the book at my local library. Best $4.00 in change I've spent. Boy was it nice to be rid of that F-ing code 43, that is by far the most evil code I've run into, at least hard to diagnos. I also finished up my gold race rocker and new push rod install ( a push rod was bent ) in the T.A. I'm Going to kick some ricer butt on Friday night :cheers:

I'm also getting the 43. What were the steps you went through that pointed you to the ECM? I was going to start by replacing the sensors. Were you getting the 43 all the time or just intermittently (as mine is). Thanks!

I get a 41 code and a 72 code but only after I use my Hypertech to program my ECM. If I go in and clear the codes, they don't come back unless I again use the Hypertech on the ECM, whether I put it back to stock or just customize the options--don't matter. Seems to have something to do with hooking up the Hypertech :confused:
