I'm going to replace mine while I'm changing my oil today. Can anyone tell me if the one on autozone is the right one for my 88? I miss knowing my oil temp.
That's the one place I didn't think to look. How much was it? Autozone listed theirs as $20, Advance as $45, and anywhere else I've found one has been $100 or up.
i need to replace mine and i am at a quandary. I've seen them as low as 19.99 at autozone (temp switch) to up to $100 ecklers. what did you end using
Try to actually purchase the one from autozone. Last I saw, it was "out of stock" and seems to be permanently so. I haven't actually found one for less than $100 and I'm not willing to pay that much for a sensor so I can know how hot my oil is.
But with hindsight, I may have known my blown head gasket was coming if I had the sensor.
If you do find a reasonably priced unit, say $20-40, let me know so I can get one too
You can buy A C Delco parts from Amazon.com. The sender you need is $14. and some change plus shipping. Do a Google search for ACD # or original GM Part # and Amazon will show up on lead page.
i have to get that sensor for my 86. i just check autozone and amazone. none of the sensors are the one my car use.

I just did a search on Amazon to see if this was correct. The item found for $14.00 was a "Oil pressure sensor" not a Temp sensor..The place below at least has them in stock, but not cheap..I paid $80.00 4 years ago for mine....WW
