Default Interior lights

Ive been having issues with my 85 with the interior lights staying on. Ive been pulling the fuse to shut them down but this kills my cig lighter and radio. Last night I had the fuse in and I noticed the passenger side light went out after the delay kicked off but the drivers side and halo lighting continues to stay lit. Is this indicating a problem with the driver door and hatch switch? Which door switch actually governs the lighting, the A pillar or the one in the door?

Thanks!

Sounds like a problem with the hatch switch or diode module, but it's weird that only one cargo lamp comes on. Do all your interior lights work ? Does the door map light turn off if you push it ?

Thanks Dan. Yeah I thought it was strange that one door works properly and the other does not. As far as the lighting the foot wells are out but I think that is a bulb issue or an unplugged connector as I have been in both kick panels recently and the drivers side is still off. The hatch lighting stays on but I do not get the hatch ajar warning at the DIC so I think that switch is good. I didnt think to check the door lights to see if it is just actually on. I will plug the fuse in and see. I am reading about a header map light. Where is that located? I do not have a lighted mirror or vanity mirror set ups and I have never looke.d to see if the spare tire light is working

I checked the delay timer by jumpering the white wires at the connector. I never looked at the passenger door light to see if it went out as I was standing on that side and just looked at the drivers door and hatch lighting and muttered a few expletives under my breath before removing the jumper and reinstalling the delay timer.

I will check the drivers door map light and post up whether it is just on or not.
I would like to solve this 'cause I need the cig lighter for my cell charger and the radio is nice on my road trips. Lights are cool too especially WHEN ITS DARK, lol.

Thanks again for your reply.
