The rear end dimensions changed slightly (1" or so) after 87. I think from 88 to 96 it stayed the same and 84 to 87 the same.
Half shafts ARE the same '84-96 ... I'm referring to the outer stub axles that fit into the hubs on the wheel end ... I'm aware that the wheelbase width changed , that's why I'm asking if anyone knows if the axles are different also .........

I know some later stub axels will have the ABS ring on them and early ones don't.

Ok...I know that the rear end got 1" narrower those yrs....88 is when the wheel offset changed, signaling a change of some sort. I reaqd something about the change in rear dimensions a long time ago but cannot recall what exactly was done.
I was assuming that the difference was deleted in the halfshafts. I can;t really see the spindle shafts/yokes being shorter, but maybe thats where they did it.
